Coolness – Cheonan City

29 Apr

I used to live in the Cheonan area, so this cafe, Art Cafe, was my introduction to cool cafes in Korea. I’m told a lot of the art work was done by the owner who is an artist. It has a quirky vibe that constantly provides eyes with stimulation. The music is great, so keep your Shazam app open. Twice a month on Friday nights there is live jazz (no cover charge). If you are are ever in the Cheonan area, make sure to stop by Art Cafe (it’s directly infront of the foreigner’s bar, Banana Club/ Bar Na Na).

Hoegi– Artsy Cafe

16 Apr
Some days you may need a bright and cheerful cafe to boost your spirits. Or, you may need a little bit of art to help stimulate creativity. Other times you need a good firm table, a comfortable chair, a pretty notebook and colorful pens to write the next Heathcliff Huxtable or Huckleberry Finn into existence. And a Cafe Saigon (Vietnamese coffee) always can give the sweetness you crave during the day. This artsy cafe in northeastern Seoul is the place to visit on those kinds of days. 8st Cafe
Directions: Hoegi Station (Line 1 & Jungang Line): Exit 1, make a left and wak straight down the main street towards the university. Walk to Burger King. Walk along the small street next, then make a right at the first street. Walk straight ahead. 8st Cafe is directly in front.
